Giddyup
This is the fun time - draft rumors running amok. Word of promises, teams swapping picks, moving up, moving down, etc.

Putting aside The Rumor, lets take a quick look at a few players Danny MIGHT be targeting.

  • Ukic - We now have official word from the Globe that the C's like what they saw with him. And yes, he's even mentioned the Celtics. I think he could be had at 18, but I'm sure if he had to, Danny would use a 2nd rounder to move up a couple of spots to grab him if that's really what he wanted.

  • Korolev - If he's got a promise from LA at 12, we'd have to move to 11 to get him. Seems high to me and there are other prospects in the late lottery that might be more worth it. I don't think it makes much sense to trade up for him.

  • Ellis - Remember him? His stock is dropping like passes to Mark Blount. Still, he's got skills and if Danny likes him, he could be had early in the 2nd round. DraftExpress even mocks him at the 51st pick (but that seems really low). If Danny doesn't go PG with the 18th pick, I wonder if he'd trade up to the end of the first or the beginning of the 2nd to get him.

Like I said, that's just a small sample of guys that Danny COULD be targeting. Last year at this time, we thought we knew about Danny's interest in Robert Swift. Two years ago at this time, we definitly knew about the Banks promise and we soon would know that Perkins was also a target. So keep your eyes and ears open. You never know when Chris Wallace might let something else slip.
